Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy can offer a tool to many types of people for a wide range of issues. There is a common misconception that hypnosis is done 'to a person' which couldn't be further from the truth. Hypnosis is essentially a state of deep relaxation where the creative aspects of your mind are more active, I work with this creative state to allow you to generate your own solutions and tap into your existing tools. I completed my training with the national college of hypno-psychotherapy as a hypnotherapist. I am completing my UKCP-accredited psychotherapy training. I offer talking therapy with the option to use hypnosis as a tool as and when you require it. My training is integrative which means I am able to choose from a wide tool box of therapy methods to suit you individually. My approach is rooted in person centred therapy, so I believe that you are the expert on your experience and my role is to support you wherever you are.

Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia & Dyspraxia

My background professionally is working with neurodivergent adults and children, which has equipped me with the tools to support many different kinds of people in a therapy setting. I personally have a diagnosis of Dyslexia and Dyspraxia from childhood and an adult diagnosis of Autism. I understand the unique challenges many late-diagnosed neurodivergent people have, and offer a space to be yourself without needing to explain how your mind processes differently. Some people may be looking for support to process their diagnosis, while others need a space to process other things without the added hurdle of explaining themselves at every turn. This is what having a neurodivergent therapist can offer to you.

Pride Flags

LGBTQIA+

I offer a warm and understanding space for anyone part of the queer community. Therapy is a place where you should feel able to be fully yourself with no judgement and no worries about disclosing your sexuality or gender identity. I aim to offer you that in our sessions, so we can build a therapeutic relationship based on who you truly are.

PMDD

I offer hypnotherapy and talking therapy for individuals living with Premenstrual dysphoric disorder or other premenstrual/ hormonal conditions. I have worked closely with IAPMD.org supporting people struggling with PMDD and personally understand the cycle of living from month to month rebuilding your life to watch to fall apart again. I offer a place to be understood, to be heard and to process your feelings around your condition but I do not offer a cure. Hypnotherapy in particular may offer an additional way to cope with your symptoms, talking therapy can offer a safe place to process grief or offload any frustration.

About me

A tree-lined path with autumnal leaves, a woman in her 30's walking a medium black scruffy dog.

Welcome! I’m Rachel.

Outside of therapy,  ideally, I am somewhere outside with my dog Olive, surrounded by old, tall trees. I also love diving into my special interests, which right now include painting, social and everyday history, planning themed parties, and anything to do with dogs.

Being a therapist is genuinely one of my favourite things, and I feel lucky to spend my workdays immersed in what feels like my ultimate special interest.

I know that finding the right therapist can be daunting; I’ve been through the process myself. It helps when the therapist feels like a real person, which is why I offer a free 15-minute phone chat. It’s a chance to get to know me, hear about how I work, and decide if we’re a good fit.
